Nodding Disease Ministry

In many of the surrounding communities, Nodding Disease is taking its toll on thousands of children. Basically, kids just begin nodding out - especially when they sit down to eat. It gets so bad that many parents have left their children and moved to different villages. Some tie their kids to trees in order for them not to wander. Unfortunately, it is usually fatal. No one knows what causes it or how to treat it. There was a study done about a year ago, and the medical reports have never reached the people. Oddly enough (or maybe not so oddly enough), the churches in these areas are not seeing their children get Nodding Disease. It is affecting unbelievers' children. It's a spiritual battle.

In America, Satan and demons and witchcraft are not so evident to most. Here- it's very obvious that demons are very real. But… our God is greater!

Twice a week, by the grace of God, we will be going into these villages with the gospel of Christ. We will pray over the children, comfort the parents, teach them what the Bible says, pray for hearts to repent of sin, and choose to live for Jesus. We will watch God be victorious.

If my people, which are called by my name, shall humble themselves, and pray , and seek my face, and turn from their wicked ways; then will I hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin, and will heal their land.
2 Chronicles 7:14

We are taking God at his Word by setting aside two days of prayer and fasting (today and tomorrow - Wednesday and Thursday) for the people of this land. Please pray along with us for these hurting families that are desperate for Jesus.

(And for those who are wondering… no, we won't be taking our children out on this adventure. I will take turns with Theresa in going out / staying with children. I know you Mommas and Grandmas out there worry!)
